Vehicle Crash Testing & Research Department owned a Full-Scale Vehicle Crash Laboratory, which was put into used on November 9, 2012. The overall layout is fan-shaped, with 310 meters length, and 165 meters width, construction area of more than 40,000 m2, and 8 runways. It can implement 0° to 180° multi-angle car to car collision, and is one of the world's most advanced full-scale vehicle collision laboratory. Crash Laboratory can provide a full range of technical services including research and development, optimization, testing, comparison, verification, for many kinds of vehicles covering traditional vehicle, Hybrid vehicle, PHEV, electrical vehicle and fuel battery vehicle.
With the tendency of auto technology and safety development, new testing equipment including WORLDSID dummy, load wall, moving barrier and so on have been introduced in order to meet research and development requirements. They also cumulated abundant experience in testing passive safety performance of new energy vehicles.
