CATARC Europe Testing and Certification GmbH was established in February 2019 in order to provide better and more efficient service on the European market. It is 100% owned by China Automotive Technology & Research Center C. Ltd (CATARC), a comprehensive science and technology corporation in the automotive industry in China and beyond.
CATARC Europe serves as a bridgehead in CATARC`s international business and aims to support the automotive industry in Europe in its dealings with Chinese market and entry regulations. A team of experienced specialists can consult and support our partners and clients in matter of certifications, tests, standards and procedural steps necessary when working in China.
Hereby, we draw on the potential of our mother company CATARC and its many subsidiaries. CATARC`s business fields cover industrial service, standards, policy research, testing, engineering technology research and development, certification, big data, engineering design and general contracting, consultation, new energy vehicles, commercialized and strategic rising businesses and other fields. CATARC serves different players in the field: The government in providing standardization and technical regulations, auto manufacturer and product catalogue management, investment project evaluation and management of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and world manufacturer identifiers (WMI).
It is further responsible for comprehensive testing covering whole vehicle tests, C-NCAP, C-ECAP, proving ground and vehicle forensic authentication. CATARC also serves the automotive industry through project engineering and management, data resources service, industrial policy research and project consultation, online and periodical publications, conducting specialized forums and events, product homologation, quality system certification and training.
CATARC Europe Testing and Certification GmbH is owned by CATARC Automotive Test Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., which belongs to CATARC Testing and Certification Business Division.
Currently, the Division invests a total of more than 4.8 billion CNY in its operations. It commands a construction area of 4.7 million m² and more than 3,000 advanced measurement and testing devices. More than 2,000 people work in the division, 40% of whom own a master’s degree or above. In the recent times our Division made concerted efforts to build 20 domestic outlets and two offices in Europe and Japan. The Division business scope covers six regions in China while expanding to Southeast Asia and other countries along the Belt and Road.
