The CATARC Mark Certification is a voluntary product certification for Chinese automotive products or automotive products that are imported to China. Testing and certification under voluntary regulations might seem unfamiliar and redundant, but it is beneficial to demonstrate the unique value of the product beyond the mandatory requirement, and raises the product competitiveness in the Chinese market.

The CATARC Mark guarantees the conformity of the product with more Chinese recommended standards (GB/T) and CATARC assessment regulation, in field of safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and especially new technology not included in the compulsory catalogue, such as EV charging pile and intelligent connected unit of vehicles.

The Voluntary CATARC Mark Certification is conducted by CATARC Huacheng Certification (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., which is the only third-party certification body mainly serving in automotive industry in China. CATARC has successively developed 4 major categories of voluntary certification covering the whole vehicle and automotive parts with a total of more than 20 CATARC Marks, as shown in the following summary.

The whole certification process is similar to the CCC certification process, based on CATARC certification implementation rules, and the corresponding standards.
